I purchased a replacement icemaker less than a year ago, this is what I bought....Whirlpool 4317943 Ice-Maker Replacement Kit RIM943. Recently it has been making smaller and smaller cubes.....and now it won't make any. No water will fill up the tray during a cycle, but it still goes through the motions of making ice. Someone told me to take a paper clip and insert in the holes marked "V" and "L". This would jumper the unit and trigger the water pump. If no water came out then there was either a frozen line or a bad pump. When I inserted the paper clip (insulated with electrical tape) water flowed into the tray with no problem......What's my next step? Could the ice maker itself be shot after less than a year? are there other things I can check before buying a new unit? I appreciate any help that can be offered.
