InLine Filter reccomendation

Hi,

I currently have a water softner after my pressure tank before the water comes into the house and once in a while i see some sediment come through in the tubs and toilet tanks (very fine gray silt).

I was told that I should put an inline sediment filter after my softner to prevent any sediment from coming through the house. Does anyone have any reccomendations on what filter to use (e.g. brand, size, etc...)?

Have you conducted a test to determine how much sediment is present in the water?

I don't see alot in the house because I think some of it gets trapped by the softener. However, my irrigation system has an inline filter that gets clogged constantly since the water comes straight from the well. Is there a particular test that I should do?

You're going to want to put the sediment filter before the water softener to allow the softener to not have to sift out the large particles and lower its efficiency.

If you can see the silt, then you should use a 30 to 50 micron filter.
