Compatible Filters

Hi,
I have a Whirlpool side by side. It need to replace the water filter and I replaced with a Kenmore filter, not thinking until it was too late. Any harm in doing this? Can I expect the worst where there will be a leak?

Kenmore refrigerators and filters are actually made by the other manfacturers such as Whirlpool, GE, Maytag, and LG. Kenmore is a large brand, so the manufacturers also brand the filters for them. A Kenmore filter is the exact same as a Whirlpool filter except for the box color and the price (Kenmore always charges more.)
