  • Recommended TDS Meter?

While reading this forum, I noticed it was suggested that one should have a TDS meter to monitor the performance of an RO system. Which TDS Meter is recommended. Other than accuracy, what features are important in a TDS meter? Thanks

Do you want a meter for sales purposes or monitoring your own membrane levels indicating total rejection and possible replacement time?

For most customers, a simple pen-style is adequate. This site has an excellent array of meters for a variety of purposes.

      One for residential monitoring.

I saw that fitersfast.com. offers several models, which is why I started this thread. Any recommendations among them? Thanks

I have the HM Digital Com 100 and am very pleased with it. It has conversion scales for NaCl and KCl plus a water temp readout. The electrodes are replaceable. But it's a bit pricey and it may have more features than needed for just checking home water TDS.

The HM TDS EZ may be all you need. It doesn't do temp and it's 1% less accurate. If you just want to monitor the rejection performance of your RO it would be fine.

Just for monitoring , I would recommend my design lol which is excellent for residental applications.
I would consider following features if i was looking for one

          power source---battery or continuous monitoring.
          sensor cleaning maintenance
easy installation such as push in quick connects
calibration adjustment--since most meters do need calibration time to time.

Remember TDS meter is a glorified voltmeter so most meters are pretty accurate.
