  • KVROQ drips when handle is flipped on

I have a Kinetico R/O that when I first turn it on the water drips out of the spigot then turns into a full stream in about 30 seconds. Water pressure in the house is fine.

It sound like the tank has to be filled with water first before the spigot operates but this is the only R/O unit I've seen do this.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

How many hoses are coming out of the RO tank? One, two or four?

3 small hoses and 1 larger diameter hose.

      Thanks for asking.

That has become a discotinued model. That tank is called the Quickflow and was designed to work off your household pressure instead of an air bladder.

There is a modulator in the top of the tank that needs to be changed. If within 7 years, that part is covered by warranty. The newer RO has eliminated that problem.

The tank always refills after use, so it should always be full or refilling. The hesitation is a port that is sticking.

        It is repairable.

          Thanks Andy.

This unit was installed in 2008.

When I called the company that I purchased it from they said the filters needed changed.

I'll make a service call. They charge for the calls but it's best to get it fixed before the warranty is out.

          Thanks for your help.

One other question if you don't mind?

When replacing the filters are there less costly filters that will work in this system?

            Thanks again.

Before I placed a service call I replaced the filters and the R/O unit works fine now.

I guess the little blue meter that shows filter use isn't very accurate.

              Thanks for your help.

The metered indiactor is not precise but gives you a general indication of filter life. I recommend to customers to get the filter replacements and keep them aside to place when needed.

Glas it worked our for you.

Well that lasted about 10 days. My R/O again will drip as soon as I turn the faucet on. Doesn't do it all the time but once is enough.

At a $100 just for a service call I somewhat reluctant to do so.

Is there any other testing I can do to verify what is in need of repair.

Thanks in advance for any help.
