  • looking at a water treatement system

    hi everyone

I am currently looking at a water treatment system for my new home, hardness 21 iron 2ppm can i use a water softener? had ecowater quote for $2700, having kinetico come on thurs. do i need to spend that kind of cash to get something that will last 20+ years?!.....help please thanks

Typically yes, a water softener should be able to handle those water conditions as long as your iron is ferrous iton and npt ferric. What is your pH, TDS?

How many people using the water? With EcoWater the number of people will need to calculate total number of gallons per day. Kinetico is a twin-tank system so that is not an important factor. There are cheaper versions that you can get locally and on the internet.

In fact, there are far more modestly priced softener systems available locally and on the internet that will treat your water just as effectively and just as reliably and for as long as either the EcoWater or Kinetico.

More bang for your buck isn't a synonym for cheap.
