I have an old Kenmore 625.384700 RO unit. Prefilters for it are getting hard to come by, but I came upon this post on the forum recommending a substitute -- the Pentek P5. So I stocked up on them.
Now that I've received them I see that they're made entirely of polypropylene rather than being the carbon block filters I'm used to. I assume they're just as effective at removing chlorine as carbon block filters or else no one would have recommended them, but I wanted to be absolutely sure before ripping off the plastic and installing one. Will polypropylene prefilters protect my RO membrane from chlorine?
Thank you very much.
