  • Water running to drain

I had a problem with low pressure coming out of the faucet from a Proline 5-stage RO unit. I drained the tank, pressured it to 8 lbs, hooked it all up, and turned on the water. The water has been running from the unit to the drain through the red plastic pipe for more than 2 hours. How long should it run to the drain. When does the tank fill and how long does it take?

It should run till the tank fills with water (offsets air pressure) with around 1.2 gallons in a '3-gallon' tank. It may take up to 2-3 hours. Is your tank white with a removable cap?

It is a white tank with the water valve on the very top and the schrader valve at the bottom side.

        Has it stopped by now?

It is still trickling a little off and on. It cycled in the past, but his is not the normal cycle. I have it hooked up to the ice maker and an insinkerator hot/cold faucet. The insinkerator has just started leaking from the unit. Just a few drops at a time.
