  • Does anyone know what system I have? (see attached pics)

Does anyone know which Kinetico RO system I have? I want to replace the filters myself. The only one I could find is the middle one which is an OmniPure CL10RO T/33. Are the two on the left and right membranes? I have know idea how these systems work. The one on the left is market "TFC" as you can see with a number stickered on the bottom that you really can't see in the picture: 107750. The one on the right is bigger in diameter than the other two.

    Thanks in advance.

I have never seen a Kinetico unit like that. But, it's very basic. The housing on the right will hold a 10" sediment (well water) or carbon block filter (city water) and the one in the center is a TCR cartridge. Membrane is on left.

Thank you for your help. It is pretty old; installed in early 2000 so the model is probably even earlier than that. Any idea what model number sediment and carbon block filter would work? I'm in your normal city water housing trac.

Looking at the filtersfast site...you could use the CB-10-10 for a prefilter and then the inline filter would be something like the GS-10EXTRA.5-C. This one has KDF inside which is a bacteriostatic media. It's not necessary, but doesn't hurt anything. I didn't see the standard one without it like I use for these types of units listed. It just needs to be an inline carbon filter with 3/8" FPT threads and you're golden. Remove the fittings from the existing filter. Clean the teflon tape off of them, retape them and reuse them.

Thanks to you, this is becoming more clear:

Replace the carbon block filter on the right with: Pure-Rite 2-1/2"x10" Carbon Block Filter 10 Mic (which is out of stock at the moment)
Replace the TCR cartridge in the middle with: GS-10EXTRA.5-C 3/8 (btw, how do you know it is 3/8" and not 1/8" or 1/4"? Or I could just pull it out and look at it. :-) )
Maybe or maybe not replace the membrane on the left: Apparently you only need to replace membranes every 3-5 years. However, I believe the last time I had "the guy" come out was in 2013. Any idea which FiltersFast model number I'd use for that one?

The picture told me which TCR filter to use. It's a 3/8" threaded one. I'd buy a TDS meter and check the TDS to know if the membrane needs to be replaced. You want a minimum 80% reduction of what's coming out vs what's going in. I generally look for 90%, but with that unit I would temper my expectations due to experience servicing them. This is the style I think it will take. https://www.filtersfast.com/Filmtec-...r-Membrane.asp
