In a very basic 4 filter system I have noticed a marked increase in waste to filtered water. System consists of in order of flow: sediment filter, charcoal, RO filter and post charcoal filter. No pumps or valves - just manually turn on feed water and fill large container and turn off. Since replacing all filters the filtered water leaving the RO unit is just a dribble and the waste line pours out. More than previously. Plenty of flow up to the inlet of RO cartridge. No leaks in cartridge or obvious misalignment. Cartridge only fits one way and all flow arrows are correct. Again all filters brand new. Removed the post filter and checked flow from RO cartridge union. Dud RO cartridge?
As a matter of interest what is the basic ratio of permeate to concentrate in a simple system such as this - I had heard of 2:1 concentrate. Currently I would think I am exceeding 10:1 concentrate.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
