  • Bad tasting water

    Hello,

My mom has a five year old Watts RO unit that wore a hole in one of the filter canisters. Water was shut off to the unit, tank drained, and canister removed to try to find a replacement. The unit sat like this for a year before another was found. When put back together, the water tasted bad, so I changed all three filters. She has used the system for the last month but the water still tastes bad. I do not have testing equipment to provide readings, but the water tastes bad. Flow out the faucet is what it was when new. Could sitting idle have effected the system?

    Thanks,
    Karl

When you say 'filter' does that include the membrane or not? Did ytou use manufacturer's filters or generic filters?

Your unit may have to be sanitized.

I did not replace the membrane, but did use OEM filters.

      How do I sanitize it?

      Thanks.

Contact WATTS for sanitization instructions. If you have an organic presence it may cause an odor.
