Can I hook up a water filter for my dishwasher.

There is an odor after washing the dishes, can I hook up a filter that will filter my dishwasher and kitchen faucet. How do I do that. Thanks

What kind of odor is it? Are you on well or city water?

Do you notice the odor in any of the hot water any where else in the house?
