  • Pentek R30 or smaller?

I have an AquaPure filter housing and the prior owner left a bunch of USFilter R30 cartridges which are now running out. As near as I can tell, the USFilter R30 replacement are now Pentek R30 (155017-43). Should I just get more of these, or should I consider something else (e.g., 1-5 micron filter, string-wound, etc.)? Thx.

    Pentek, US Filter R30

You are correct, the correct part for you is the R30 at http://www.filtersfast.com/Pentek-R30-water-filters.asp. As far as changing filters goes, are you happy with the R30? You are using a 30 micron filter so if you feel like your water quality could be better, than you may try a 10 micron like the one at http://www.filtersfast.com/Pentek-PD-10-934-filter.asp. If you feel like you are changing the filter too frequently, you can try a higher micron like the r50 at http://www.filtersfast.com/American-...er-filters.asp. If you are one a well, then your micron level should not be dropped too low as you will end up changing filters very frequently, but if you are on city water, you may consider a carbon filter for chlorine, chloramine reduction. Please let us know if you have any questions.
