Hi all. Just found this site in research for water filter system. Looks like an awesome site. It is amazing how forums like this exist to help dummies like me figure stuff out. Here is my problem in well water:

    Iron 3.33 ppm
    manganese 2.63 ppm

I 've been told by local system dealers that the manganese is really high so.....$4,000-4600 for a system. Ouch.

Then Budgetwater.com has a terminox filter for $800+/- that supposedly will work also.

Help. what is the truth? does it lie in the middle? (no pun intended) haha.

    Thanks,

    How hard is the water?

    Why not use a softener?

does a softener alone remove iron and manganese and maybe H2S04?

      Thanks for the reply Gary.

      Oops Hardness is 12.3 gr/gallon

No no softener removes H2S but all remove iron, manganese and hardness.

How many people and bathrooms in the house and any large tubs or showers?

How many people on an average weekend?

Your pump will be delivering more than 7 gpm or something is wrong with it.
