Need help.....

I just purchased a new house and was told I needed a water softener and a sediment filter. So, I purchase these and have them installed. After a couple of weeks, I had a water company check my water and he advised the water has a low PH (6.0) and I'm getting a rotten egg smell from my hot water now. So....what is the solution to the low PH and the rotten egg smell.
