Well water whole house filtering

Im looking for advice on a new treatment system. I have 3 bathroom, 2 adults and two boys. Ages 14 and 7. Had the water tested. See below.
1. pH 7.8
2. Color 15
3. Manganese 0.14
4. Iron 0.30
5. Hardness 56
reccomended I go with a 20 micron filter followed by KDF.


I had Culligan and others over. I can do the install with the help of a plumber friend or family member. Any recommendations?

Your water is slightly hard, and is also slightly alkaline with a pH of 7.8. You should not have any issues and is within normal range.

A standard 10-Inch by 4.5-Inch filter housing in series should be all that is needed. Well water is known to contain sediment, and 25 Microns should be all that is needed. The Pentek DGD-7525 filter will start at 75 Microns and will go down to 25 Microns which will allow better filter life.

A KDF filter will remove heavy metals if present, but you will likely want carbon media as well to reduce volatile organic compounds which can be harmful.

I would recommend a filter containing a KDF/Carbon mix like the Pentek DBC-10EX2.

Any standard 10-Inch x 4.5-Inch Filter housing should be used.
