moved into a house in central florida, with a well, it has chlorine injection, holding tank, carbon filter and softner. With > 10ppm chlorine measured at holding tank output, I still have smell on cold water faucets in house. 10ppm was max scale on test kit, i bet it was pushing 50-100ppm as i have since diluted the choline mix 10 to 1 with water to get level down to 8 ppm. the smell peristed thru this whole tunning process. there is no chlorine after the carbon filter.
once I bypassed the carbon filter and fill the pipes with chlorinated water and let sit for hour. didn't fix it. (hot water has smell as well) . Everything i read says this type of system should be able to control the hydrogen sulfide, but not for me. straight well water has some yellow, maybe iron or tannin, but none of that gets thru to the house. Softner is for sure taking hardness out of water.
I have not had water tested for ph, hardness, or anything as I thought this system should be imune to those parameters.
What shoud I do next.
thanks
