Two Aqua-Pure AP902 in Series?

I bought a home in Scottsdale, AZ that has two Aqua-Pure AP902 filters connected in series to the city water supply providing whole house and swimming pool. I don't know how long since the AP910R filters have been replaced. The dishwasher has white chalky buildup and the washer is what my wife describes as limey/slimey. I am prepared to buy new filters; however I want to make sure it makes sense to have two identical AP910R filters connected in a series fashion. Does that makes sense? Should I maybe consider having two different filters, like maybe first the AP910R followed by the AP917HD-S? Further, is the AP917HD-S compatible with the AP902 head? Welcome any advice...

Since they both remove the same contaminants, there would be no need for two of the same. I would consider having two different filters. For the filters you would need, I have reached out for assistance from our filtration expert, just to make sure you get completely sound advice.
