I've got $1,000 to $1,200 to work with in getting a water filter for the whole house. I plan to get a RO system for under the sink for drinking water, and the cost of that isn't included in the above numbers. I had the water tested back when I moved into the home and in the test samples I sent out there was a TON of sediment as the well had been sitting unused for about a month. The water only had about 2 hours to run before me taking a sample due to time restrictions at the home. Since moving into the home the water has become better, however not perfect and I will list the issues that we are having below!
1.) Very light staining of tub & toilets. It takes around two weeks for it to become noticeable and always wipes clean.
2.) Water has a slight sulfer smell. It has gotten better and doesn't bother me, however the Wife notices it all the time. Smell comes from hot & cold water.
3.) Whenever the Wife shaves she breaks out on her legs & her razer goes dull 2-3x faster that it did before moving into the home. The only change is the water.
I'll post the test results below but I'm not sure how accurate they are, as I said above it was taken after the well had been run for two hours after sitting without use for a year. If anything however, these are the absolute worse case results.
