  • Everpure T20 whole house carbon filter clogging faster

I have an Everpure whole house T20 carbon filter for my home. I have very high iron (10-12ppm), if I remember correctly, but the water is not that hard. I have a green sand filter before the T20 and there is a brine (chlorine and soda ash) injected into the incoming water. My T20 usually lasts about 6-7 months before the water pressure is noticeably lower. I have 2 tanks, in the event that in the winter months the fiilter needs changing. Anyway, I have had to change the filter the last 2 times within 3 months. I have used less water this summer as I did not have a vegetable garden. The number of household members also decreased this year. I'm thinking of going to a aquacera brand hole house carbon filter that is guaranteed for 1,500,000 gallons or 5 years of use before needing recharging.

This sounds like a good to me, as you should get quality filtration and not have to change the filter as quickly as you have had to recently.

I agree, however, my reason for this post is to try and find out why the filter is clogging so much faster. Could the make up of the water changed that much? Is the green sand no working properly?
