I have an Everpure whole house T20 carbon filter for my home. I have very high iron (10-12ppm), if I remember correctly, but the water is not that hard. I have a green sand filter before the T20 and there is a brine (chlorine and soda ash) injected into the incoming water. My T20 usually lasts about 6-7 months before the water pressure is noticeably lower. I have 2 tanks, in the event that in the winter months the fiilter needs changing. Anyway, I have had to change the filter the last 2 times within 3 months. I have used less water this summer as I did not have a vegetable garden. The number of household members also decreased this year. I'm thinking of going to a aquacera brand hole house carbon filter that is guaranteed for 1,500,000 gallons or 5 years of use before needing recharging.
