I live in Flint, Michigan where we are currently experiencing a pretty serious water crisis involving elevated levels of lead. I have Pur brand filters on all of my faucets (kitchen and two bathroom sinks). However, from what I understand these type of filters don't filter lead from hot water and my family, including my 2 year old breaks out in rashes after showering. In addition, the city is now saying the amount of lead may be too high for the faucet filters to handle. With all of that being said Id like to get a whole home lead filter but don't know where to start. I began my search with under the sink filters but understand they also only filter lead from cold water. Are there whole home lead filters prevent lead poisoning from warm/hot water? Any suggestions on brands/types? Also, I have a whole-home carbon filter that was installed by the prior owners. Do they make filters for those that filter lead? Thanks for any help!!! I'm clearly clueless!!
