Just completed a self-water well test. Everything checked out great except it showed Ph levels of 10 or greater. We have a house filter system w/ two 20 gallon drums we maintain with the filter system--one drum has a bleach/water and soda ash mix and the other a water and polymer mix. Any suggestions? I thing I read somewhere that the soda ash has something to do with the ph levels? Any info would be great. thanks.

Your solution feeder is adding too much soda ash. You adjust that so the pH is maintained around 7.0 to 7.2. -

Your pH system may need a more periodic monitoring. Soda ash systems with a chemical feed pump may raise pH levels too high and water can become caustic. This is not good and can be dangerous.
Can you describe the type of pump you have to distribute the soda ash (make/model)? Is there a seperate pump for the polymer? Is that polymer really a polyphosphate solution? How are these pumps activated: flow rate or well pump activated? Do you have extended non-treated water use (outside water hoses, etc.)? These are important details to understand to help you solve your problems.
It can be a matter much more complicated than just turning your pump down.
To monitor your pH level FiltersFast has a nice meter. This can be used daily at at a kitchen sink.
