  • Kinetico Mach 2060s - Water used during regen?

I would like to install this used softener into our house but am unsure of how many gallons it uses during a regen and also how many useable gallons it can pass before a regen initiates. Can someone help me find this info?

What are you water test results in hardness and iron, at least? What # disc in the top of the valve? Also, you will need to understand the salt dosage adjust in the tube of the brine tank.

get us the testy results first.

System is in another house of ours and has the #4 disc.

I do not have a water meter and want to just know the gallons to see if the well can handle it. I can only run water for about 45 minutes before it goes dry. Then it needs a 2 hr rest to come back. I did not want to install the softener without knowing.

It uses 35 gallons. When you say 45 minutes, I am not sure how you are figuring that. Is that 45 minutes at any flow rate? Or using water at full blast?

From a garden hose. If I wash all my cars which takes 45 min, it will go dry.

Then you should have no problem, but it is essential that you know your water conditions and the softener may need to be re-adjusted to match those conditions.

I will try to borrow a TDS meter, but what else can I find on my own. Around here it is expensive to get an analysis done.

A TDS meter will do little to determine the softener's settings. You need to measure hardness and iron content. TDS is often used for drinking water quality.
