Kinetico 4040 Filter/Softener

I am new at this forum and perhaps this questions has been asked a lot of times. Just wanted to get some feedback before I purchase. I had my water tested for hardness and the result was 16 gpg which I was told was extremely hard. Kinetico quoted me a 4040 filter/softener system at $4295 tax included. Included with the price is:

Installation
Bypass / Shut-off valve
200 pounds of salt
10 year parts and warranty
1 year labor

Is this a good price? also, is there something missing that I should include? thank you

The is an excellent softener and will remove the chlorine from the water as well. The price is a bit higher than other dealers so maybe you can negotiate a couple of hundred.

Also, Kinetico, Inc. requires a sediment pre-filter before that unit because it is an upflow system. A few dealers feel it is not needed but my experience shows it is. Insist on a pre-filter at no extra cost. 20-25 micron should work fine.

I have tech data/stats on that system if you need it.
